Uganda: Orland to Make Rallying Debut

Kampala — KAMPALA based Israeli motocross star Barak Orland will make his motor rallying debut in the Champion of Champions Sprint at Entebbe Botanical Gardens on Boxing Day.

Orland, whose flying antics have endeared him to motocross fans, will drive a buggy in the sprint that has so far attracted 21 drivers.

"I saw him training in that buggy sometime back and I think he's good. I wouldn't be surprised if he gives seasoned drivers a run for their money," a photo-journalist remarked.

The Southern Motor Club organised sprint, the last event on the motorsport calendar, will determine the season's Clubman Rally Championship (CRC) winner.

Shafiq Ssemuju (Subaru N10) and Mogas Rally Team's Nasser Mutebi (Subaru N4) will be in contention for the title, having lost the national rally championship to Ronald Ssebuguzi.

Mohammed Abdulsamad (Subaru N8) and Jas Mangat (Subaru N10) stand a good a chance of winning the sprint which will affect the title race.

The sprint will be spiced up with a music show that will stretch into the night at the Lake Victoria site.
