press release

My Fellow Citizens:

I want to take this opportunity to wish Liberians and Friends of Liberians across the globe, the United Nations and our nation's international partners who continue to work tirelessly to keep our beloved nation safe and secure; and all members of opposition Political Parties, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I also extend well wishes and good cheer, this holiday season, to President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, government Officials, The President Pro Tempore of the Senate, The Speaker of the House of Representatives and Members of the Legislature, The Chief Justice, Associate Justices, and Members of the Judiciary.

As another peaceful year comes to a close across this beautiful and rich land of ours, I ask all Liberians to take a moment to reflect on their quality of life, where they are today, and where they hoped they would have been economically and socially in January of 2010.

For those who feel a sense of disappointment, let down, or frustration, I ask that you please remain hopeful. You are closer today to A New Beginning, than you were four years ago.

I thank our Maker for allowing us to see the end of another quiet year, and count the blessing of life that has been bestowed upon us this Christmas. I want every Liberian to know that the year 2010 brings us one more step closer to A New Beginning and a new vision for Liberia. This is a wonderful time to be a Liberian and I want everyone to remain focused, engaged, and energized as we enter into 2010.

This year has been a bitter sweet one for our party. As we celebrate the passing of 2009, we must also remember to celebrate the lives of our fallen heroes, the late Hon. Hannah Brent, Junior Senator from Montserrado County, Mrs. Kladee Nagbe, and, young Master Papee Solo amongst others. These members were great and dedicated people of the CDC, and our nation. They were a source of support for many of us in times of need. Their kind hearts and spirits will always be missed, and I will never forget the joy they brought to us all

As we enter into this new and exciting year - 2010, I ask everyone to continue to remain attentive and focused on results. Four years ago many promises were made to you. This is a perfect time for you to begin grading performance. Take a careful look at each one of those promises to see if it was accomplished. As you provide your grades, I urge you to keep in mind that trying doesn't put food on the table, accomplishments do.

My fellow citizens, I will always remember 2009, as it was the year you spoke and placed your trust in The Congress for Democratic Change to take you to the next level. And in 2010, we will build on that trust and continue to work diligently and tirelessly to earn even more of your confidence. I thank you again for your trust and support, and I assure you that The Congress for Democratic Change is committed to working hard for you and maintaining your trust.

Wishing You a Very Merry Christmas, and a Very Happy New Year!!!

Sincerely,

Ambassador George M. Weah

Standard Bearer

The Congress for Democratic Change (CDC)

George M. Weah should be the first to grade himself and his Party before the public follow suit. Let him produce the job lists he and his Party have provided for the die-heart followers, supports and citizens. What did CDC do to put food on the table of their many followers, supporters and citizenry alike; despite, the trust they repose in the Party? Oliver, UK Jkchea40@hotmail.com
