Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State says 48 suspected kidnappers were arrested in the state this year. Akpabio said this Sunday at Afaha Ekpenedi, Esit-Eket Local Government during a reception organised in honour of Chief Bassey Abia, the state's commissioner in NDDC. The governor vowed that anyone caught in the act of kidnapping would face the full weight of the law. He said the police had so far recovered 500 rounds of ammunition, three machine guns and one AK-47 rifle from the hoodlums who robbed a bank recently at Ikot Abasi Local Government. (NAN)
