Nigeria: Insurance Lacks Sufficient Revenue Sources - Justus Esiri

There is abundance of opportunities for insurance operators to tap into and generate huge income , says ace actor, Justus Esiri.

Esiri who was the Guest Celebrity at last Brokers' evening for the year 2009 hosted by Staco Insurance Plc said with over 140 million Nigerians, insurance companies could make use of the great opportunities in the nation's population to generate huge income.

He said, "There is virtually nothing that is not insurable only if insurance companies can be more proactive in their innovations and spread their marketing tools to cover the nooks and crannies of the country."

According to him, "There is enough opportunity for the insurance industry to make money in this country. And there is nothing that is not insurable only if Nigerians have trust in insurance.

"The Insurance industry must first of all build that trust in Nigerians to make them appreciate that insurance is inevitable in present day Nigeria," he said.

Nigerian artists are ready to campaign for the insurance industry in order to help propagate insurance awareness across the nation, said Esiri who was speaking the minds of the nation's artists.

Mr Justus Esiri, MON, who has been in the business of acting for over three decades, while making his remarks about the sector commended the effort of the Federal Government in reforming the insurance sector. He said that the sector's practitioners who go out to market insurance should first build the trust of their clients.

He said, "In line with the resolve of this administration to give added value to members, we have resolved to introduce some pep into the programme.
