Nigeria: Longman, Pearson Foundation Train Teachers

Lagos — No fewer than 176 teachers in Lagos and Oyo States participated in the 2009 edition of the Professional Development Programme for Teachers, organised by Longman Nigeria Plc. and Pearson Foundation, an arm of its educational outfit.

The teachers were trained on literacy and numeracy skills, as well as Early Childhood Development (ECD). A total of 59 teachers underwent the training in Lagos; 29 for ECD and 30 for literacy/numeracy skills, while 87 participated in the ECD sessions and 30 in the literacy/numeracy sessions in Ibadan.
