Gambia: Man Convicted of Theft

One Abdoulie Bah was recently convicted and sentenced by Magistrate Surahata Danso, of the Bundung Magistrates Court, after he was found guilty of stealing and theft.

According to the particulars of the offence, the accused on or about the 24th day of November 2009 at Wellingara, stole one ram valued at D2. 700 and on the same day and place, stole one pedal bicycle valued at D2.000 being the property of one Karamo Darboe. He pleaded guilty.

He was sentenced to pay a fine of D2.000 in default to serve one year imprisonment. He was further ordered to pay D2.700 as compensation to the complainant and D500 for court fine in default to serve three months imprisonment.
