Somalia: Hizbul Islam Takes Over Control of Beledweyn Town

Somalia — Hisbul Forces have taken over the control of Beledweyn town in central Somalia After heavy fighting between both rival Islamist fighters, witnesses said on Friday.

There has been calm situation in the town over the past few days as they were amassing troops which lastly resulted in to break out the fighting.

Locals said that the clashes started at Beledweyn town early on Friday morning as both sides were exchanging heavy gunfire that could be heard all directions around the town in central Somalia.

witnesses said that the fighting between Ahlu Sunna Waljama'a clerics and Hizbul Islam forces started first at Bardere village about 20 kilometers northeast of Beledweyn town in Hiran.

No casualties were reported so far and there is no comment about the war from the officials of the warring sides so far.
