Gambia: NaNA Holds Sensitisation On Non-Communicable Disease

The National Nutrition Agency (NaNA) recently held a day sensitisation forum on non-communicable diseases, focusing mainly on diabetes and hypertension at its headquarters in Bakau.

In his welcome remarks, Momodou Phal, the executive director of NaNA, observed that in the past the global trend was that most deaths were related to communicable diseases such as malaria, measles and tuberculosis, the present experience is the complete opposite. He reminded the participants that both medical doctors and traditional healers or herbalist have one common goal and that is, to treat and cure the sick were possible prevent illness.
