Somalia: An Educating Official Killed, Search Operations Continue in Bosaso Town

Unidentified gunmen have shot and killed an educating official in the port and business town of Bosaso, just as searching operations are continuing in the town in the semi-autonomous region puntland, witnesses told Shabelle radio on Sunday.

Reports from Bosaso town say that unknown gunmen armed with pistols killed the official who was called as Abdullahi Mahdi Siad and was also the chairman of local organization for the Somali youth and serving for educating programs in the centre of the town in Bari region.

Witnesses also said that some of the security forces had reached at the scene after the accident to search how the killing action happened there and began operations at several neighborhoods of town to seize the murderers to bring them before court.

There were no people arrested during the search operations in the town so far.

We had tried to contact with the officials of Puntland administration to know more about the matter, but was too difficult to get them through the telephone and the murdering action against the educator seems to be part of a series of attacks and planned killings against the people in the region.
