Nigeria: Reps Intensify Work On Constitution Review

Abuja — The 44-man House of Representatives Constitution Review Committee (HCRC) on the review of the 1999 Constitution met yesterday behind closed doors even as the proposed amendment to expunge section 315 from the 1999 Constitution has been passed into second reading and referred to the CRC for scrutiny.

Details of the meeting of the Constitution Review Committee which was held at the Hearing Room 1, old building in the House wing were however not made public. Speaker Dimeji Bankole who presided at Yesterday's plenary had announced the meeting on the floor shortly before adjourning for the day.
