Nigeria: Kaduna Ready for 2010 UBE Grants

Kaduna — Kaduna State government has expressed its readiness to pay the counterpart funds required to access its allocation of the Federal Government Universal Basic Education (UBE) Funds for this year.

Reacting to the report that the state was one of those that were yet to access their funds, spokesman of the State Universal Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Shu'aibu Dabo said the state had accessed the funds for last year. "We are just waiting for permission from the Federal Government to tell us that the 2010 grant is ready and as soon as we get that directive, we will provide the matching grant and access our funds."
