Tunisia: Survey - Local Women Read More Than Men

Tunis — A recent survey on "the book and reading" which was instructed by President Ben Ali in 2009, showed that 22.74% of Tunisians have never read any book. Seven Tunisians out of ten did not read a book in 2009.

The survey also reveals that women read more than men (+7.15%). The results of this study were presented on Thursday in Sfax, at the national conference devoted to the national consultation on books and reading. The conference was inaugurated by Mr. Abderraouf El Basti, Minister of Culture and Heritage Preservation.
