Somalia: Ethiopian Officials Meet With TFG Officials in Bakol Region

El Barde — The Ethiopian officials reached at El-berde village in Bakol region yesterday have met with the transitional government officials in the village in southern Somalia, witnesses told Shabelle radio on Monday

It is unclear what exactly have been discussed in the meeting of the officials by both sides of the Ethiopian and Somali government officials who were there though reports from the locals say that the two sides had talked more on the security of Bay and Bakol regions in southern Somalia and also how the troops would continue to their duties that they had been trained in the Somali region under the control of the Ethiopian government.

One witnesses who declined his name to be in print told Shabelle radio that the Ethiopian and Somali officials were discussing whole night at El-berde village adding the Ethiopian troops had forcibly took a Somali woman with four of her children and several other Somali teenagers from the village and led to the side of the Somali region in Ethiopia.

Latest reports from the village say that people had fears though the administration of Bay and Bakol regions disproved the reports saying Ethiopian troops had reached there in southern Somalia.

It was yesterday when more Ethiopian troops with many government soldiers trained in Ethiopia had reportedly reached at El-berde in Bakol region in southern Somalia.
