Zambia: RB Pays Last Respects to Late Milanzi MP

PRESIDENT Rupiah Banda yesterday visited the funeral house of the late MMD Milanzi member of Parliament (MP), Reuben Chisanga-Banda in Chipata.

The president, who arrived at the funeral house together with First Lady, Thandiwe around 16:30 hours in Kalongwezi, spent more than 45 minutes at the funeral house before the body was taken to Kawaza Village in Chief Kawaza's area in Katete.

The late MP will be buried today in Katete. Earlier, some ministers and MPs saw off the body of the late MP at Lusaka City Airport.

The body, which was flown to Chipata on a Zambia Air Force plane, left Lusaka at 10:30 hours.

It was accompanied by the widow, Mary, family members and some Government officials.

The officials included Lusaka Province Minister Charles Shawa, Local Government and Housing Minister Eustarckio Kazonga and Lands Deputy Minister Michael Mabenga.

Matero MP Faustina Sinyangwe, Kabushi MP Lombani M'sichili and scores of MMD cadres were also present.
