Nigeria: Yar'Adua - Prophet Calls For Caution

Lagos — GENERAL Evangelist of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Worldwide, Prophet (Dr) Samuel Kayode Abiara, has called on members of the National Assembly to exercise caution in determining the true health status of President Umaru Yar'adua after a long period of medical treatment in Saudi Arabia.

The call for restraint follows the alleged threat to impeach President Yar'Adua by 200 members of the House of Representatives last week in Abuja.

Prophet Abiara in a short speech delivered at the joint thanksgiving service of the CAC in Lagos recently, warned that the government must be very cautious in everything it does concerning the health of President Yar'Adua.

According to him, "the House of Representatives and the Senate must try as much as possible not to take any decision that would contravene the constitution of Nigeria. They must always abide by the constitution so that the country would not be destabilised."

He said that: "All eyes are watching Nigeria."

Abiara equally urged the Federal Executive Council (FEC) to exercise caution over the condition of Yar'Adua and be critical on whatever it does.

This, he said was important as the President could not wish himself to be sick at the expense of his office.

"There is no life without problem. There is no government without problem, there is no family without problem, and there is no country without problem. The present state of affairs in the country is a trial and challenges for Nigeria. With God, we shall sail through," he sated.

"I urge all Nigerians both Christians and Muslims to pray fervently for quick recovery of the President," he added.

In his reaction to the Jos crisis that claimed 326 lives, Abiara said the crisis is un-called for and described it as an act of satan.

Abiara said: "God is one and is God of Peace. God can fight himself. God does not tell anybody to fight for himself."

"The Christian and Mulsim brothers should live in harmony because we serve God of peace.

I am seizing this occasion to beg all Nigerians in the name of Jesus Christ to live in unity, oneness and peace, and not allow this country to be divided," he added.

During the thanksgiving attended by leaders in the society, he announced plans to organise prayers in all branches of CAC (Worldwide) to pray for peace in Nigeria.
