Ibadan — A popular juju musician at Odo-Ona in the Apata area of Ibadan, Wole Ayoola (a.k.a Wireless), was on Thursday night, electrocuted in the process of switching over power supply from his generating set to that of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), thus throwing the entire neighbourhood into mourning.
The 29-old-musician had reportedly arrived home at about 11.00 p.m. only to meet power outage after a social engagement within the community.
He subsequently put on his generating set, after which he headed straight to the bathroom with the aim of having his bath before going to bed for the day.
However, while Wole was busy having his bath, the PHCN reportedly restored power to the area.
On coming out of the bathroom, he was said to have gone straight to the switch box to change over to PHCN for power supply.
It was reliably gathered that the musician met his untimely death immediately on touching the switch box as he was electrocuted.
The wife of the deceased and his little children, who were sleeping when the ugly incident occurred were attracted to the scene by the strange noise they heard from the musician.
But before they could get out of the bedroom, where they were sleeping, Wole had given up the ghost as they met his lifeless body on the floor.
This made the wife of the deceased to cry out for help, and within a twinkle of an eye, many residents of the community had stormed the scene.
