Nigeria: Jonathan Does Not Need National Assembly' Resolution to Become Acting President - Olanipekun

interview

Wole Olanipekun is not only a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), he is also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and a former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in old Ondo State.

He has handled many landmark cases and was the head of a team of lawyers that won all the election petition cases filed by the opponents of President Umaru Yar'Adua and Acting President Goodluck Jonathan in the aftermat of the 2007 General elections. In this interview with Maxwell Oditta, Olanipekun bares his mind on the Senate resolution proclaiming Jonathan Acting President in Yar'Adua's absence. He says the Constitution, which is self-executory, has already made him that. He adds the President and the Vice President have a joint ticket and the dividing line between them is threadlike.
