Namibia: Succession Trouble in Witbooi Clan

THE acting Chief of the Witbooi Clan, Christiaan Rooi, claims the succession to the chieftainship after the death of former Prime Minister Hendrik Witbooi last year is being "politicised".

Rooi's claims follow allegations by some clan members that he had "clandestine" discussions over the succession with African Methodist Episcopal church clergymen over the past weekend.
