LUSAKA has so far recorded 30 cases of cholera with Chipata Township recording the highest number of cases.
Ministry of Health spokesperson Kamoto Mbewe said yesterday that the number of confirmed cases had continued to rise in Lusaka and that Chipata Township had recorded 25 cases.
Kanyama Township recorded three cholera cases while two other cases were in two other townships.
Dr Mbewe said the ministry had continued distributing chlorine in all the townships to help prevent the further spread of the waterborne disease.
He said there were no deaths recorded so far but urged residents to keep their surroundings clean and avoid unnecessary visits to cholera-prone areas.
