Nigeria: Fraud - Ekiti Dismisses 15 LG Operatives

Ado-Ekiti — Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) in Ekiti State, Chief Femi Akinyemi at the weekend disclosed that no fewer than 15 top officials in the 16 council areas of the state have been dismissed by the state government for their alleged involvement in various fraudulent activities, which ranging from loading of vouchers and aiding of ghost workers.

Besides, the commission boss further disclosed that the recent screening exercise embarked upon by the commission had led to the discovery of over 3000 ghost workers, who have been receiving salaries illegally from their various council areas in the state.Speaking at an interactive session with journalists at his office,Ado-Ekiti at the weekend, Akinyemi said the screening exercise had afforded the state government to save a whopping N40 million, following the blockage of the loopholes being allegedly used by the officials.
