Gambia: Stakeholders Validate Draft Food Safety And Quality Bill

A Stakeholder consultative workshop on the proposed Food Safety & Quality Bill and Policy spearheaded by National Codex Sanitary and Phytosanitary Committee (NCSPSC) and supported by the West Africa Quality Programme (WAQP), has recently concluded at the Senegambia Hotel.

This two day consultative sessions held on the 16 and 17 February, 2010 was the second mission undertaken by the UNIDO Food Safety Management expert, Dr. Ian Goulding specifically aimed at elaborating a draft National Food Safety Bill and Food Safety Policy Document. The workshop was meant for stakeholders to discuss and amend the draft Food Safety and Quality Bill and to solicit information to draft the National Food Safety Policy Document.
