Cameroon: Specially Adapted Bicycle to Ease Tourism

The innovation dubbed, "Eco-friendly Calorie Cycle Speedometer" helps tourists to measure where they go.

Technological inventors have come up with a specially adapted bicycle that allows tourists to measure wherever they go when they are on their bicycles. The discovery, code-named, "Eco-friendly Calorie Cycle Speedometer" is capable of notching down important details such as the speed, distance, trip time, wheel rotation frequency as well as the number of calories burnt. It comes with a built-in clock that displays the time in both 12- and 24-hour formats, depending on the user.

Inventors say the device is just like any other bicycle computer but for the fact that it provides the option of solar power. The computer adapted to the bicycle can operate on solar power or with one 3V CR2032 battery. Its advantage, according to inventors, is that when riders are in the sun they can take advantage of nature's energy source and cut their footprints even more. There are just three buttons to toggle with - Set, Mode and Reset, alongside a night light for those who prefer working out when dusk falls. The device can be powered by a single 3V CR2032 battery, or via solar power if the cyclist rises early. It contains three buttons to toggle with - Set, Mode and Reset, alongside a night light for those who prefer working out when dusk falls.

The invention is still being used in Europe and is said to have facilitated tourism in most countries. This, as it keeps cyclists informed and eco-friendly on each and every ride.
