Tunisia: Gabes Launches Environmental Project to Curb Sulfur Emissions

Tunis — In a world concerned with climate change, Tunisia continues to grant special interest to its commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions such as CO2.

After a period of reckless industrial development, the city of Gabes, which is home to one of the world's most unique coastal oasis, is currently involved in a series of environmental projects, including fighting against sulfur induced air pollution in and around the Gabes harbor.

One of the project's components is the setting up of a new unit to reduce Ammonia emissions in Ghannouch.

The development of a green area in the Group's chemical plants is also underway. The project which will involve a total cost of 600,000 dinars, will also include the planting of 6,000 trees per year.
