Tanzania's bodybuilder David Nyombo has finally departed for the US to compete in the Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic World Bodybuilding Championship slated for March 4.

The Africa's No.2 bodybuilder was to depart last week, but his much publicised trip hit a snag after failing to solicit Sh10 million that would cover expenses. However, much to his relief, Eaters Club of Masaki and Syncaremore Travelling Agency came forward to support him.

"I thank the two firms because they've purchased a return ticket for me and that's great. I've had two weeks of frustration, but I've made it at last," he said. Nyombo reiterated his ambition to shatter more country's bodybuilding records, saying he was delighted to be the first Tanzanian to participate in the world championship.

"This my golden chance to impress the world..I'm really determined to perform wonders despite not training intensively," he said. The 35-year-old bodybuilder won a ticket to the world's greatest contest following his scintillating displays in the International and Continental Championships held in Mauritius late last year.

Besides finishing second overall, the local contestant impressed many judges to grab several medals in various international categories. Among the categories the Tanzanian won include; the Ben Weilder, Indian Ocean and International Grand Prix titles
