Nairobi — Five people wanted by police in connection with serious crimes in the South Rift region were arrested on Tuesday.
Bomet deputy police boss Adiel Nyange said one of the suspects was picked up at a local eating place after detectives in Kericho District circulated his photograph.
He was said to have then led police to his accomplices' hideouts.
Stolen items, including mobile phones and goods belonging to a bank manager whose house was broken into last week, were recovered from the suspects.
Mr Nyange said the arrests were a major breakthrough following several cases of robberies and killings in Bomet in the past few months.
The police, he said, had intensified the crackdown on crime and appealed to the public to volunteer information that could lead to arrests.
He said the suspects would arraigned in court once investigations were complete.
