Angola: Cardinal Happy About Approval of New Angolan Constitution

Luanda — The Luanda emeritus archbishop, cardinal Dom Alexandre do Nascimento, said on Monday in Luanda that he is very happy about the approval of the Angolan Constitution.

Speaking to Angop, in the ambit of the celebration of his 85th anniversary, Dom Alexandre do Nascimento said that the approval of the new fundamental law by the National Assembly rejoiced him a lot.

The cardinal revealed that before independence, he already reflected on an Angolan Constitution and drafted one he handed over to the late and first Angolan president, Agostinho Neto.

Dom Alexandre do Nascimento was born on March 1925, 1 in northern Malanje province.
