Uganda: Industrial Court to Start in May

Kampala — Uganda will soon have an industrial court that will be responsible for the arbitration of differences between employers, employees, trade unions and the government.

At a recent function, the State Minister for Labour, Mr Emmanuel Otaala, said, the hotel and service industry is growing very fast therefore there is need to set up the court to harmonise employment problems. "We have secured the premises, a judge has been nominated and we sent the him to Turin, Italy to be familiarised on matters of industrial court and by May 1, a fully functional court will start," Mr Otaala said.
