Africa: MPs Pay Homage to African Handball Champions

Luanda — National woman team of handball was honoured on Friday by deputies of National Assembly (AN), after winning their 10 African title, last February in Egypt.

In the ceremony, led by speaker Paulo Kassoma, were present deputies, parliament workers and members of handball federation. The former players Palmira Barbosa, Lídia João, Filomena Trindade, Fábia Raposo and Teresa Joaquim also attended the event and promised to help the development of the modality.

Being part of the team for the first time were the coach Paulo Pereira, his assistant António Costa and the players Wuta Dombaxi, Anastasia Sibo, Juelma Viegas, Nelma Pedro and Azenaide Carlos.

The full list of players: Natália Bernardo, Cristina Branco, Azenaide Carlos, Bombo Calandula, Isabel Fernandes, Carolina Morais, Maria Pedro, Acilene Sebastião, Elzira Tavares, Luísa Kiala, Anastasia Sibo, Maria Odeth Tavares, Wuta Dombaxe, Lurdes Monteiro, Nelma Pedro and Juelma Viegas.
