Kenema — Mayor of the Kenema City Council Friday disclosed to Concord Times in Kenema some of the major developmental plans that council is poised to undertake in a bid to give the township a new facelift.
Chief Brima Kargbo said apart from the successes made in the construction of bridges, drainages and culverts in every parts of the city, there were more areas that needed attention. These areas, the Mayor maintained, if undertaken will elevate Kenema to a real city status.
Kargbo said he was well determined to complete the rehabilitation of the Kenema town hall, construct the roads and ensure most of the streets are provided with lights. These developments, he said, will uplift Kenema to the status of a real city.
He said plans were underway to contract Ghanaians for the construction of some major roads in the city.
He also disclosed that several markets and schools have been constructed since he took up office as Mayor, thus admonishing the people to put politics behind them and work in the interest of national development.
