Tunis — Nabeul, the capital of the Cap Bon region, will host from March 9 to 28, 2010 the 6th edition of the Neapolis Contemporary Art Forum. Incidentally, Neapolis was the Roman name of Nabeul, signifying the new city.
The program will feature a number of plays, movies, music, exhibitions and as well as a sculpture exhibition which will showcase a number of Tunisian sculptors including the talented, Bashir Zribi.
The forum will also organize a seminar on March 12 on "Art for human rights" in which discussions will be held on the role of literature and art in serving the cause of freedom and human rights in the world.
The seminar will bring together a number of intellectuals and artists including among others, Al-Nasser Besheikh, Hayet Rais and Tawfiq Jebali.
The forum has also scheduled a 4 plays from Tunisia and one from Algeria featuring Zahira Ben Ammar's play, "missing".
Three music shows along with a Tunisian symphony, a performance by the Ares group for world music, the Paris International Circus festival ILYA, as well as the screening of some Tunisian films, are also on the agenda of the event.
Nabeul's Neapolis Cultural Center is one of the most active cultural centers in Tunisia always keen to follow-up to the latest developments in the Tunisian vibrant cultural sector.
