Nigeria: Kalu Tasks Lagerback on Kanu

Love him, hate him Nwankwo Kanu is still very much a factor in Nigeria's trip to the 2010 World Cup.Pillar of Sports Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu emphasised this much Tuesday.

Kalu advised new Eagles manager Lars lagerback to tap from the overflowing talent of the national team captain who made his senior team debut in Sweden.

'Lagerback needs a motivator in that team and the only person who can offer that is Kanu.FIFA described the Swede as a tactician in 2002. He worked with Tommy Soderberg who as co-coach motivated the boys to a win over Nigeria in Kobe, Japan.

Kanu may not be a coach but he has his way with his younger team mates. Ask Obafemi Martins why he rushed to Kanu after scoring twice against Senegal at Egypt 2006,' Kalu said.
