Eritrea: Endeavors to Upgrade Quality of Curriculum Bearing Encouraging Outcome

Massawa — The endeavors being exerted to expand educational opportunities in all parts of the country and upgrade the quality of the curriculum are bearing fruitful outcome, according to Mr. Yasin Mohammed, head of the Education Ministry's branch in the Northern Red Sea region.

In a meeting in which heads of the Ministry's branch offices in sub-zones and supervisors took part, he outlined the activities carried out to provide educational opportunities to children who were not enrolled at the right age, offer skill-upgrading training to teachers and the like.

Mr. Yasin explained that expansion of schools and the number of students continue to grow multifold thanks to the concerted action taken.

The participants of the meeting adopted a number of resolutions and recommendations aimed at tackling the problems encountered in the teaching-learning process.

The Administrator of the Northern Red Sea region, Ms. Tsegereda Woldegergis, called on the local inhabitants to avail themselves of the available social services and urged parents to send their children to school.
