Angola: Culture Ministry Regrets Death of Writer Alda Do Espírito Santo

Luanda — The Angolan Culture Ministry in a message to Angop, in Luanda, regretted the death of San Tomean writer, Alda do Espírito Santo, of died of illness. In the note, the Ministry says that Alda do Espírito Santo, through her work preserved, valued and consecrated cultural values of her mother land.

The author rom São Tomé and Príncipe, Alda do Espírito Santo created the first generation of journalists in her country and the São Tomé Writers Union. Born in April of 1926, Alda do Espírito Santo, also known as Alda Graça, is an emblematic figure of São Tomé and Príncipe's liberation struggle.
