Nigeria: Lagerback Must Feel Players' Passion, Says Taiwo

Lagos — Super Eagles and Olympic Massaille defender, Taye Taiwo believes the new Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Lars Lagerback is the right man for the job, but says the Swede must feel the passion of the players to succeed.

Lagerback was appointed last month to replace Shuaibu Amodu, and although he has already started work, he is yet to meet the players, few of whom know him too. "I don't know much about him, but it doesn't matter that much, "Taiwo said. "The important thing is that he should feel the player's passion. And I think it will be shown that he is the right man for this task. "The federation has chosen him, and they have good reasons to do it." With time in short supply before the World Cup, Taiwo says the new man will face a tough task, but says he is looking forward to exciting times. "It's an exciting venture with Lagerback, but it will also be a tough job. We haven't lot of time to get a good feeling in the team, but I'm sure we will fix it." Nigeria is grouped with Argentina, South Korea and Greece for the World Cup in June.
