Somalia: Heavy Fighting Continues Third Consecutive Day in Mogadishu

Heavy fighting between the transitional government troops backing by AMISOM and the Islamist fighters is continuing in parts of the Somali capital Mogadishu, witnesses told Shabelle radio on Friday.

At least 40 people were killed and more than 100 others wounded in a bitter clashes and shelling between the two warring sides in the north of the capital Mogadishu on Thursday.

Reports say that big war restarted at Falorenze intersection at Wardigley district in Mogadishu on Friday morning as both sides are exchanging heavy gunfire like ant-aircrafts, artillery and machineguns which could be heard all directions of the capital.

The real casualties of the fighting is unclear so far, but many other districts had reportedly effected the shelling as Hawl-wadag, wardigley, Hodan and most of the areas were the mortars targeted were the different sections of Bakara market.
