Angola: Governor Highlights University Role in Staff Training

Uíge — The governor of northern Uige province, Paulo Pombolo, Friday stressed the importance of university in training of higher personnel for the country's development.

The university is fundamental due to its strategic goals centred on scientific research which lead to the socio-economic and technological development of the country, said the official at the opening of academic year at "Kimpa Vita" University.

The Angolan government, he stressed, under the wise leadership of the president , José Eduardo dos Santos has a clear policy to expand the higher education across the country.

On the sidelines of the opening ceremony of 2010 academic year of the institution, the governor Paulo Pombo handed over assorted equipments to the University's personnel.
