Tunisia: Tunis Planetarium Hosts Exhibition On Nanotechnology

Tunis — Tunisia is increasingly recognizing the importance of nanotechnology innovations and scientific research. Several associations and research units are up and running in the sector and regular awareness raising scientific events are being held throughout the country to trigger interest in this promising field of research and study.

With a view to raise awareness among youth and children on the necessity of understanding but also mastering new technologies, the Tunis Planetarium (Cité des Sciences) organizes from March 13 to July 18, 2010 an interactive exhibition dubbed "Nanotechnology: infinitesimally small, big challenges".

Through this exhibition, the visitor will move in four modular structures. Each module offers manipulation, interactive multimedia, videos, objects and facilities to discover and confront this new world, innovation and industrial dimensions of the debate over nanotechnology.

The aim of this exploration is to make the visitor discover the seemingly invisible world of infinitesimally small objects, as well as the socio-economic impact of nanotechnologies.
