Tunisia: Nation Observes International Consumer Day

Tunis — Similarly to the rest of the world, Tunisia observed on March 15, the International Consumer Day under the theme "For better financial services".

In a statement released on Saturday in Tunis, the Organization of consumer protection "ODC" welcomed the progress that has marked the banking and insurance systems in Tunisia.

The Organization of consumer protection "ODC" stresses the adaptation of the national banking system to technological change and the banking network development in Tunisia through the setting up of branches throughout Tunisia.

The importance of creating the National Observatory of Banking, and the creation of an ombudsman for the banking sector, were among the organization's chief concerns.

The organization also highlighted the qualitative increase in the insurance sector through the amendment of the Insurance Code.
