Nigeria: Group Begs Edo Gov. for Water

Warri — THE Niger Delta Movement for Good Governance (NDMGG) has urged Governor Adams Oshomhole of Edo state to make the provision of pipe-borne water to the people of Esanland as its priority project in the area, saying this singular project will place the government in the heart of the people.

In a press statement made available to the press in Warri, the leader of the group Barrister Ernest Anuge said leadership is about achievement and turning the lives of the people around positively.

Anuge said, Esan land had experience untold hardship as a result of non availability of portable water, this according to him have made the people to rely on rain water throughout the season because the people are not fortunate to be bless with rivers and streams.

Though successive government has failed to deliver on this, it will be a rare opportunity for the comrade governor to prove his worth and also allow the gain of democracy to spread to the people.

He however warned the governor to beware of those defectors who are presently hovering around him, adding that the governor should appreciate those who are genuinely concern about the welfare of their people rather that opportunist prowling to devour what is meant for the people.

According to him, "a true leader is a man that thinks beyond politics in dispensing democratic dividends to the people. He stops to be just a party man immediately he is giving the mandate but a man for all. So our governor should look into the need of the people of Esanland and addressed them in their merit".

Anuge who is also a PDP stalwart in Esan central local government area and a house of assembly aspirant said no matter the party you belong to, the ultimate objective is to better the lots of the citizens who are partaker in the common wealth.

He called on Nigerians to eschew politics of bitterness while calling all those in power to joined hand with those in other parties to move the state forward.

"No matter the party you belong to the ultimate objective is to better the lots of the people which we all aspires to serve. So why should we engaged our selves in bickering and bitterness. Those orchestrating this negative politics are those who are not properly schooled opportunist and jobbers. Oshomhole should not allow himself to be drawn into this type of dirty politics he is a much respected man".

Meanwhile Barrister Anuge has been adopted by the PDP Women leaders of Esan central constituency for the 2011 House of Assembly election.
