The Samba Boys now occupy the third position on the league table.
Thanks to her 1-0 victory over Renaissance, the Samba Boys now occupy the third position on the league table.
After a series of disappointing results, the defending champions, Tiko United renewed with victory by beating relegation threatened, Renaissance of Ngoumou 1-0 on the 18th day of play over the weekend. The victory increases their chances for continental competitions next year given that the team from West of the Mongo have now moved up to the 3rd position in the league table with 31 points.
Meanwhile, owing to a disappointing 1-1 draw between league leaders, Cotonsport and Lilliputians, Rounde Adja, and the 2-1 victory of the runners-up Panthere Bangante alias Nzuimanto, the leadership margin has been narrowed from 13 to 11 points. Cotonsport however conserves the leadership position with 43 points, followed by Panthere with 22 points. Astres glides back to the 4th position with 29 points just as Unisport in the 5th position with 29 points equally but both sides are separated by goal difference. However, the situation can change in case Astres wins the day 18 encounter against Canon Yaounde which will take place on March 17.
There is no major shake-up in the middle of the table with Union gliding dangerously close to the relegation zone despite recording a 1-1draw against Fovu on the 18th day of play. There is no change at the bottom of the league table either where AS Matelots, Renaissance and Roumde Adja are still languishing in the red.
