Angola: Matias Damásio Honoured in Bahia On Tuesday

Luanda — Angolan singer, Matias Damásio, is being honoured Tuesday in Salvador, Brazil, for his participation in this year's edition of Bahia carnival.

According to the artist, who was speaking to Angop, the award consists of a crystal glass statute by an Italian sculptor and a diploma. He added that the list of people honoured includes the Brazilian artists, Ivete Sangalo, Daniela Mercury, Cláudia Leite, Chiclete com Banana, Banda Eva, etc.

During the ceremony, Matias Damásio will sing, on a duet with Bahian singer, Verusca. In Bahia carnival, Matias Damásio was backed by his band and Angolan singer Noite e Dia and her dancers, who sang and showed values of the Angolan culture.

Matias Damasio's participation in Bahia carnival followed an invitation from local governor who expressed admiration for some of the Angolan singer's numbers.
