Asmara — The Ministry of Education is providing training of trainers for over 600 junior and secondary school teachers with a view to introducing a program towards nurturing dynamic youths and helping them bring about behavioral change.
The training focuses on methods and tactics teachers need to adopt in efforts to nurture productive youths with positive thinking. Various topics were also discussed in the course of the training, including life-skill, the negative and positive impact of peer groups, communicable diseases and their consequences, among others.
In closing remarks of the training organized here in the capital, the director of the Minister's Office in the Education Ministry, Mr. Mehari Mengisteab, pointed out that different programs are being implemented in junior and secondary schools aimed at developing the all-round competence of students, beyond their educational maturity.
The training was given in Asmara for teachers from Central and Southern regions, in Keren for those from Anseba and Gash-Barka regions, as well as in Massawa for teachers in the Northern and Southern Red Sea regions.
