Luanda — Portugal's minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, José Mariano Gago, is to arrive in Luanda on Thursday for a four-day work visit to Angola, during which he will hold contacts and sign at least one co-operation agreement with the authorities of this country.
According to the visit programme, at Luanda's 4 de Fevereiro International Airport the Portuguese official will be welcomed by his Angolan counterpart, Maria Cândida Teixeira.
On Thursday, José Mariano Gago will deliver a lecture on "Training, research and scientific culture as factors of human development", promoted by the Angolan Physicians Order (OMA). The gathering will take place in Talatona Conventions Centre, in Luanda.
Still on the same day, the Portuguese government official will visit the Fisheries Research National Institute (INIP), and later in the evening he expected to attend a reception at the official residence of his country's ambassador to Angola, Francisco Ribeiro Teles.
On Friday, José Mariano Gago will hold a meeting with university lecturers, students and researchers, which will take place in the premises of the state-owned Law Faculty.
The Portuguese official is scheduled to return to his country on Saturday.
