Somalia: Shabelle's Reporter Released, Horn Afrik's Reporter Still Remains Jail

Bardere/Beled-Hawo — The Islamic administrations of Bardere towns in Gedo regions has released Shabelle's reporter and the director of Markabley radio in Bardere town Ahmed Omar Salihi, just as Horn Afrik's Mohamed Abdikarin Mo'alin still remains in jail at Baled-Hawo town.

Both journalists were separately arrested in both towns which are under the control of Harakat Al-shabab Mujahideen on Wednesday morning as they accused of releasing reports on complaining traditional elders in border between Somali and Kenya released by Markabley redio in Barder town.

The Islamists called for both journalists and arrested in prisons charging them for the coverage of the complaining through Markabley radio as they got a clip of the voice of the traditional elders from Horn Afrik's reporter Mohamed Abdikarin as he was in Beled-Hawo town in southern Somalia.

There had been some difficulties committing Kenyan security guards to the Somali people traveling at the border towns of Mandera and Beled-Hawo which caused the traditional elders to express concern on the actions of the troops in the region.

On the other hand, Ahmed Omar Salihi, the director of Markabley radio told Shabelle radio that they had shut down the radio after his release saying that the administration of the radio had decided to make the radio off air while efforts to release Horn Afrik's reporter Mohamed Abdikarin Moa'in is continuing in parts of Gedo region in Southern Somalia.
