LAMBA chiefs are happy with the development projects being spearheaded by the Government, Chieftainess Malembeka's younger brother, Hypack Mwanza has said.
Mr Mwanza said yesterday that reports in some sections of the media that Lamba chiefs were frustrated with the MMD Government were being perpetuated by some individuals who intended to please the Patriotic Front (PF) and United Party for National Development (UPND) pact and obtain financial favours from the opposition parties.
He said the people quoted in the story had no right to speak on behalf of the chiefs in the area, but decided to give false reports so that they could benefit from the pact through campaign funds.
Mr Mwanza said the MMD Government was trying its best to improve the lives of the people in the area, as evidenced by the construction of schools and rehabilitation of roads in the area.
Some learning institutions constructed include Mpongwe High School, Kwilimuna Youth Centre, Lwamabwe Middle Basic School, and the Government has also sunk a number of boreholes in various parts of the area.
"I am the brother of Chieftainess Malembeka and I can tell you that it is not true that chiefs in the area are frustrated with the MMD Government.
"Let me hasten to tell you that some of the people who were quoted in that story have no right to talk on behalf of the chiefs, they just want to benefit from the campaign funds from the PF and UPND and so they are resorting to telling all sorts of lies," he said.
