Lagos — Head coach of Zamfara United, Rafiu Yusuf says he was disappointed with the play of Dolphins especially how they ended the match against his side on Sunday at the Port Harcourt Liberation Stadium.
Yusuf said he was a bit surprised at the way Dolphins started the game, scoring inside one minute and thought his side were in for a drubbing but the home side just could not take advantage of that.
"I have always known Dolphins to be a great side and when they scored inside one minute i thought they would get more goals but somehow they could not capitalise on that.
"We came here to try to get a result but unfortunately in football things like these happen. We will just continue fighting hard.
"They referee also did a great job and we have no complaints against him," Yusuf said.
In the game, Dolphins overcame hard fighting Zamfara United 2-1. Omo Ojabu scored the fastest goal ever recorded at the Liberation Stadium just 50 seconds into the game.
Captain Ejindu's shot was spilled out by Zamfara United's goalkeeper, Chike Micheal and Ojabu latched onto the rebound for the first goal of the game.
Ojabu would have made it two after ten minutes when his head got to a cross from Jeleel Ajagun cross and his header completely beat the keeper but hit the upright when half the ground thought it was already in.
Ojabu recovered to pick the rebound and pass to Sunday Mbah who blasted his shot wide of goal. But Zamfara United drew level in the 39th minute through Oraya Andrew.
The Dolphins defence were caught ball watching during a free kick and Sunday Rotimi in goal dashed out late and could not catch up with Andrew who headed home.
However in the 59th minute Victor Babayaro got the winner when he blasted home from the edge of the box after Zamfara United's keeper punched out the ball onto his path.
Dolphins now have 33 points from 24 matches played and have a real cracker against Sharks on Saturday at the Sharks FC Stadium.
