Angola: MP Explains Constitution Divulging Process

Huambo — Member of Parliament Rui Falcão stated Wednesday in Huambo Province that the current divulging process of the Constitution, in every province of the Country, does not mean debate, but it is a presentation of the document for the citizens to learn about how it is applied nationwide.

In a resumed presentation of the 244-article diploma, approved last February, the parliamentarian highlighted in detailed manner aspects related to the land ownership law, inspection of the application of the law and also election of the Head of State and of the members of parliament.

According to Rui Falcão, the National Assembly (Parliament) intends to make the Constitution mature, so that all citizens can identify themselves in this document.

He reminded participants that the fact that only 16 out of the 244 articles which makes up the constitution were submitted to voting in the Constitutional Commission shows that it is a consensual document.
