Johannesburg — Critical loopholes that allow fraudulent entry onto the national population register will be closed as part of a massive campaign by the Department of Home Affairs to get all South Africans registered, the department said yesterday.
At present, there is no clear indication of how many people are illegally on the population register, fraudulently enjoying the rights of South African citizens. Also, no clear figure is available of those entitled to be on the register but who are not.
