Nigeria: PTDF Commends Media Trust on Integrity

Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Engr Muttaqa Rabe Darma has commended the management and staff of the Media Trust Limited for upholding the ethic of journalism and promoting integrity of the practice.

Engr Darma made the commendation while receiving the Managing Director and Chief Operation Officer of the Media Trust Limited Mallam Isiaq Ajibola yesterday in Abuja.

He said the Fund has enjoyed a cordial relationship with Media Trust, publishers of Daily, Weekly and Sunday Trust newspapers, which informs a lot of Nigerians about its mandate and activities.

"You are our partners in letting Nigerians to know what we do. I understand the symbiotic and very cordial relationship that PTDF has with Daily Trust," Engr Darma, who was represented by the General Manager, Nigerian Content Division, Hajiya Habiba Wakil, said.

He said the fund recently introduced local scholarship schemes in order to reach more Nigerians who are not opportune to be on the Oversee Scheme due to the limited number of the slots.

He informed the Media Trust team that the PTDF has intervened in upgrading universities by the way of building new departments, equipping them, providing books and journals, computers etc to make them conducive for learning.

In his remark, Mallam Isiaq Ajibola said the company believes strongly that the activities of the PTDF are a good strategy by the federal government to educate Nigerians and empower them to compete in the oil and industry.
