Tunisia: Country Holds Congress On "Improving Performance And Preserving Athletes' Health"

Tunis — "Improving performance and preserving athletes' health" is the theme of the International Sports Medicine Congress, due to be held from March 19 to 20 in Tunis by the Tunisian National Olympic Committee (CNOT).

The congress will gather Tunisian and foreign professionals of sports medicine such as Dr. Ben Mansour Abderraouf, Dr. Monia Slim (CNOT), Dr Michel D'Hooghe, the FIFA Chairman of the Medical Committee as well as Dr. Mario Zorzoli, medical director of the International Cycling Union (UCI).

Participants will discuss the preventive aspects of nutrition and sports performance, as well as the role of sports medicine in the fight against doping.

Dr. Michel Leglise, President of the Medical Committee of the International Gymnastics Federation will give a paper on "child, youth and high-level sport" highlighting " Physical, technical, medical and physiological preventions".

Moreover, the particularity of this Congress is that it encompasses three dimensions namely ICT, Sport and Medicine and the preventive aspects of the "quantification of the training burden."

"Medicine for soccer and football for Health", will be the subject of a presentation by Dr. Michel D'Hooghe.
